Aurora GO Station

The Aurora GO Station is located in the rapidly expanding community of Aurora. Metrolinx has classified this site as a signature site for the historic station building.

Extensive site reconstruction has resulted in improvements to infrastructure, pedestrian and vehicular circulation systems and sustainability. Pedestrian plazas act as transportation systems for significant pedestrian traffic during rush hour travel. These spaces provide attractive areas of respite during off hours through the provision of benches, planters and significant plantings in an environment that requires significant hard surface treatment due to its use.

Permeable paving in the pedestrian areas contribute to sustainability through increased infiltration, quicker snow melt, and the resulting requirement for reduced salt application.
