Brymar Wetland

A constructed wetland was developed as part of the storm water management design associated with this rural 142 lot subdivision in Alliston. In addition to collecting runoff from the adjacent residential lots, the wetland serves as an overland flow route, accepting water from the two storm water management ponds associated with the development. Sediment is removed from the runoff in the storm water management ponds, and the water is further cleaned prior to re-entry into the natural drainage of the region.

The wetland has capacity to store water during heavy rainfall events, mitigating the effects of severe weather events on the surrounding watershed.
